A few weeks ago I was at Vicenzaoro in Italy and Madridjoya in Madrid. Now the circuit brings me home. From October 16 to 19, the Miami Beach Convention Center hosts JIS Fall 2026, and this year I'll be there as a bilingual host and correspondent.
What is JIS?
Jewelers International Showcase launched in 1979 as a trade-only show for jewelry professionals: independent jewelers, multi-store retailers, and buying groups. This year it brings together more than 600 exhibitors covering fine jewelry, lab-grown diamonds, silver, fashion, equipment, and technology.
What sets it apart is immediacy. Many buyers take inventory home on the spot, straight from the show floor to their display cases.
Why it matters even if you're not a jeweler
JIS Fall is the last major buying event before the holiday season. What jewelers choose during those four days is, quite literally, what you'll find in stores in November and December. If you're thinking about an engagement ring, a meaningful gift, or that piece you've wanted for a while, what happens in Miami Beach affects you directly.
There's another detail I love: JIS brings together buyers from the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. Miami is the natural bridge between our markets, and this show is where that bridge becomes business.
What I'll be covering
Over all four days, I'll bring you the show in real time, in English and Spanish, through the Trends at JIS series. I'll tell you which trends are leading, what jewelers are buying for the season, and how to read what you see in stores afterward.
One of the sessions I'm most looking forward to is Beyond Metal, on alternative materials, moderated by Jen Cullen Williams with Victoria Gomelsky of JCK Magazine on Friday the 16th. And of course, I'll be paying close attention to the natural versus lab-grown diamond conversation, something I wrote about after the CIBJO Congress.
Follow along live
From October 16 to 19, the show will be on my social channels. If there's something specific you want me to look into on the JIS floor, like a trend, a type of stone, or a pricing question, send me a message and I'll find it for you.
See you in Miami Beach.
