How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
Finding the right ring size is the first step to finding the perfect ring — and it's easier than you think. Whether you're shopping for yourself or buying a surprise gift, we've put together everything you need to measure accurately at home.
Method 1 — The String Method (Most Accurate)
You'll need: a thin strip of paper or string, a pen, and a ruler.
- Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger — the widest part, just below the knuckle.
- Mark where the paper meets itself with a pen.
- Measure the length in millimeters from the start to your mark.
- Match that measurement to the size chart below.
Tip: Measure at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest. Fingers swell in heat and shrink in cold.
Method 2 — Measure an Existing Ring
If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, this is the fastest method.
- Place the ring on a flat surface.
- Measure the inside diameter (from inner edge to inner edge) in millimeters.
- Match to the chart below.

Shopping for a Surprise? Here's What to Do
- Borrow a ring she already wears on that finger and bring it to us to measure.
- Ask her close friends or family — someone usually knows.
- When in doubt, size up — it's easier to resize down than up.
- Most rings can be resized 1–2 sizes in either direction.
